Truelove presented Rear Adm. Rick Williams, commander of Navy Region Hawaii and Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific, and Cmdr. Todd E. Hutchison, commanding officer of Michael Murphy, with the Canadian Forces’ Unit Commendation. The commendation was given in appreciation for the recovery efforts of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Protecteur after suffering an engine fire several hundred miles off the coast of Hawaii during its transit back to Esquimalt, British Columbia, in February 2014.
