Deutsch: Nach Ovid in den Metamorphosen berichtet, verliebte sich Narziß so sehr in sein unerreichbares Abbild, dass er vor Gram darüber starb. Durch Beschneidung wurde das Bild entfremdet. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde der androgynen Jüngling durch wenige Übermalungen in eine heilige Katharina mit dem Rad verwandelte. Diese Übermalungen sind heute entfernt
