Description
English: 162–162A Church Street, Whitby, North Yorkshire. House built in 1635. Timber framed and jettied cottage with rendered masonry filling. One of a terrace of three houses along the Crossgate section of Church Street. The first floor layout appears to be close to the original, the ground floor has been modified at some point in the past, removing the original 40cm stone walls to insert the display windows. Grade II listed. Subject of Yorkshire Vernacular Buildings Study no. 1380.
