Description

170405-N-WA993-050

YOKOSUKA, Japan (April 5, 2017) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman Lacey Flot, from Lacombe, Louisiana, cleans an empty jet-engine bay of a decommissioned F/A-18C Super Hornet pier side of the Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The training jet is used to conduct flight deck drills involving simulated aircraft fires. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
