The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) transits the Mediterranean Sea as a Marine, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 365 (Reinforced), 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), observes the ocean view from an UH-1Y Huey as the USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship, sails along the horizon after completing an aerial sniper drill focused on proficiency in engaging targets from an aircraft June 29, 2017. The 24th MEU is underway with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet and U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
