Description U.S. Army Pfc. Andrew Bock uses a handheld identification detection device to gather information on an Afghan during Operation Helmand Spider in Badula Qulp in Helmand province, Afghanistan, Feb. 15, 2010. Bock is assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment. The device is part of a multimodal biometric system that collects and compares fingerprints and iris and facial photos against an internally downloaded biometric watch list.
