English: A map primarily depicting the route of the Boston & Lowell Railroad. It also shows the Lowell & Lawrence and Salem & Lowell railroads. The map is not dated, but several clues point to it being published around 1855:
  • The 1853-built Saugus Branch does not yet have the October 1855 connection to the Eastern
  • North Andover is separated from Andover, which took place in 1855
  • The Harvard Branch, operated 1849-55 is not shown
  • The Grand Junction segment to East Boston (opened 1852) is shown, but the western segment (opened 1855, though not operated 1857-69) is not
  • The 1854-built Horn Pond branch is not shown
