English: After having two significant fires in the City of Brooksville including the Hernando Court House, the city counsel decided to purchase a new fire engine. Prior to this, the only firefighting equipment that the city had was second hand old equipment for other cities. The American LaFrance Engine was purchased for $12,500. It was built in Elmira, New York. |
