Description
Deutsch: Als sogenanntes Faksimile einer im Besitz des Historischen Museums Hannover stammt dieser Abdruck einer um 1890 enstandenen Fotografie aus dem Sammelwerk Hannover Archiv. Es zeigt einen Blick auf einige Häuser an der damaligen Deisterstraße, heute der Platz Schwarzer Bär in Linden. Am linken Bildrand hinter der elektrischen Straßenbahn ist das ehemalige Hotel zum Schwarzen Bären zu erkennen, vor dem ein Brunnen des hannoverschen Tierschutzvereins steht. Die gußeiserne Viehtränke hatte drei Schalen; oben für Vögel, in der Mitte für Pferde und unten für Hunde.

Rechts daneben unter der damaligen Adresse Deisterstraße 8 c findet sich die

„Ausstellung landwirthschaftlicher Maschinen u. Geräthe Arnold Meese ...“

Etwa in der Bildmitte warb die Firma Holtzmann & Co., Canalisations-Artikel, Inhaber Theodor Holtzmann für seine Produkte.

Ganz rechts - hinter der Gaslaterne der Imperial Continental Gas Association mit einem Drahtzug zum Hoch- und Herunterschalten - ist das Grundstück des ehemaligen herzoglichen Falkenjägers zu sehen: Der Falkonier Heinrich Häuser hatte wegen seiner treuen Dienste 1649 vom Herzog die Konzession für seinen Falkonier-Krug erhalten. Die Gebäude hinter dem Pissoir wurden zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme von der Bauholz- und Dielenhandlung Falcke & Hanie genutzt.

Im Hintergrund ist ein schwarz rauchender Fabrikschlot zu sehen, mutmaßlich der Schornstein der 1852 von dem Arzt August Brande und dem Kaufmann Eduard Meyer gegründeten Lindener Aktien Brauerei ...
