Summary edit
Description18 June 1815 – Victory at Waterloo – Quatre Bras, Monument Brunswick, overall view.jpg |
English: To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the death in combat of Frederick William of Brunswick (Friedrich Wilhelm von Braunschweig), the Duchy of Brunswick obtained permission to build a memorial close to the place where he was shot dead.
The monument was funded by public subscription, and inaugurated on June 16th, 1890 in the presence of the local authorities. The monument was restored early 2015 for "Waterloo 200", a series of events commemorating the bicentennial of the Battle of Waterloo. |
