SINGLE-BANK, SINGLE-RING DOFFERCONDENSER This Condenser is similar in operation to the double bankcondenser, except that the regular 27 single doffer is used in placeof two small doffers on the double bank condenser. Also, thestock is carried by grooved rollers from the doffer to the condenseraprons. This machine is used very widely, particularly for a pro-duction of medium count yarns, and not over 42 ends to the 48width card is recommended. This machine particularly commendsitself to coarse work, where the number of ends taken from thecondenser are limited. It is a very popular arrangement, and insome cases the roving spool is taken directly from the condenserand placed in a special creel on a slubber, for the purpose of pro-ducing coarse yarns, cither with or without draft. CHILDS-STEWART WASTESPINNING FRAME This Machine is designed particularly for the spinning ofcoarse yarns with no draft from oily cotton, card waste, combernoils, shoddies, sweepings, linters or other low grades of stock. Itis particularly suitable for spinning such yarns as filling yarnsfor blankets and flannelettes, hosiery yarns, backing yarns forcarpets, woolen goods and shoddies. As compared with MuleSpinning, these yarns can be spun on this frame with a considerablesaving in labor, investment and horse power. The roving is de-livered direct to this spinning frame from the jack spools made onthe Card Condensers. The spools are placed in the creel of theframe and are supported by drums whose rotation carries theroving forward to the delivery rolls with little or no draft. Theyarn is then spun by means of spinning rings and travelers inthe same way as on an ordinary cotton ring spinning frame.Practically No Draft is imparted to the yarn in this process, andthe result is a lofty and
