Description
English: 1925 postcard photograph of the Francis D. Raub School. It was opened in 1923 in the west end of the city as a new elementary school to accommodate the growing population of the west end. . It's Tudor-like structure housed the latest in academic facilities. It was also equipped with vocational facilities. In 1925 it was converted to a "Junior High School" in 1925 and taught grades Seven though Nine. In 1981 the Allentown School District adopted the "Middle School" concept and began teaching grades six through eight
