Summary edit
Description1928 Minerva Type AF Hibbard & Darrin Transformable Town Car, front right.jpg |
English: 1928 Minerva Type AF Hibbard & Darrin Transformable Town Car at the 2021 Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. Bodywork by Hibbard & Darrin, presumably further modified by NY agent Paul Ostruk who added his badging to the body. 30CV, 5.3-liter sleeve-valve inline-six with 150hp and a 3.8m wheelbase. "Transformable" refers to that the roof panel above the front seats can be removed. The original owner was a heavy drinker and had a hidden compartment in the rear where he could keep secret bottles of alcohol in spite of Prohibition. This car won at Pebble Beach in 1987 and won its class in 2018. Largely overlooked by most of the crowd at Greenwich. |
