Description

"This Bentley Speed Six Sportsman's Coupé was originally created for Commander Glen Kidston to compete in the 1930 Monte Carlo Rally. It has a Weymann body built by the J Gurney Nutting Limited. Weymann fabric bodywork has the advantage of being very strong yet light and flexible, with hardly a squeak being heard by its occupants. It is finished with layer upon layer of hand-sanded paint called Tole Souplé, giving the impression of polished metal panelling. Very few original Weymann cars exist, making this car extremely rare. It won its class here at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in 2001." from the noticeboard beside the car at Pebble Beach 2009.
