Description

The Bentley 3½ litre was available from 1933 to 1936, it was the first new Bentley model following Rolls-Royce's acquisition of Bentley in 1931. The 3½ litre engine was developed from Rolls' straight 6 cyl. The chassis was manufactured from nickel steel, and featured a double-dropped layout to gain vertical space for the axles and thus keep the profiles of the cars low. 1177 3½ litre cars were built, over half the cars were built with Park Ward bodywork, with the remaining cars spread across a large number of coachbuilders. The vast majority of cars featured bodies from the UK, but a handful were fitted with bodies produced in other countries. This is one such car, which was bodied by Antem in Paris. It is one of just two Bentleys ever bodied by Antem. Engine; 110hp 223 cu in 6 cyl. A drophead 3½ litre was briefly featured as James Bond's personal vehicle in the 1963 movie From Russia with Love.
