Description

Morris Cars were available from 1913- 1984. The MG was introduced in 1923, a sporting version of the Morris. In 1927 Morris Motors bought Wolseley, then in 1935, bought Riley. Morris merged with Austin in 1952 to form BMC (British Motor Corporation). Morris, Austin, Wolseley, Riley and MG. The Morris Ten was a medium-sized car introduced in 1932 as Morris' 10 hp car. In 1933, a six inch longer six cylinder version was introduced, the 4 cyl was then referred to as the Ten-four (1292cc side valve) and the 6 cyl referred to as the Ten-Six (1378cc side valve) Available was a 4 door Saloon, 4 door Tourer and 2 door Special Tourer (the Special Sports Tourer got twin carbs) The 1935 Ten Series II got a new more rounded body, the grille shell leant back at the top, vents in the bonnet were now horizontal (still 1292cc side valve) 4 door Saloon and 2 door Coupe available The 1938 Ten Series III was very similar, chrome grille surround was now painted and the 1292cc engine was now overhead valve The 1938 Ten Series M, was a completely new car, now unitary construction. Prewar cars vertical bars in the grille, Postwar cars got a rounder grille with horizontal bars without Morris badge on top. A 4 door Saloon and the upmarket Wolseley Ten were available. Not only built in the UK, but in Australia as well.

The Morris 10 and 12 were replaced in 1948 by the Morris Oxford.
