Summary edit
Description1953 Allard J2R in Black, front left (Greenwich 2021).jpg |
English: A 1953 Allard J2R (sometimes called "JR" and actually completed in 1956) on display at the 2021 Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. With a March 1956 build date, chassis 3406 was the last of the seven cars originally built - 3407 having been finished in 1955. Originally sold to Norman Moffat of Ottawa, Canada. Cadillac V8 engine with a four-barrel carburettor, Offenhauser heads and other bits, a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission and a Halibrand quick-change differential coupled with Allard's typical De Dion rear suspension. This car is alone amongst the J2Rs in having two doors and left hand drive. In a nod to safety, the current owner has fitted a fuel cell and a (removable) full height rollbar. |
