Description

From a full size car, the Fairlane became an intermediate sized car in 1962, bridging the gap between the Falcon and full size Galaxie. Another facelift in 1964 lost the tail fins and the grille was updated again. Available in Fairlane and Fairlane 500, 2 and 4 door (4 door also assembled in Australia- the 'compact' Fairlane). the pillarless hardtop and wagons were introduced in mid 63. Engines; 170 cu in 6 and 260 Windsor V8.

Ford introduced a Fairlane Thunderbolt for drag racing in 1964, heavily modified to incorporate Fords 427 CID (7.0 L) V8 race engine
