Tahoe Turquoise. From 1962, Fords mainstream cars were available in three sizes; the compact Falcon, the mid sized Fairlane and the full size Galaxie. The new look of the 1966/67 Fairlanes featured vertical stacked headlights. A mild facelift in 1967 saw a new grille and new taillights. The base model was available in 2 and 4 door Sedan and Wagon. The Fairlane 500 got extra mouldings, carpet and sill moulds. (2 and 4 door Sedan, 2 door Hardtop, Convertible and Wagon). A few 2 door hardtops were built with 'R-code' 427 V8s and 4 speed. Built to qualify the engine/trans combination for NHRA and IHRA Super Stock racing, they had fiberglass hoods with a forward-facing hood scoop. The 500 XL got a more refined interior, bucket seats and chrome trim. (2 door Hardtop and Convertible), the Wagon was the 500 Squire. The Fairlane GT got the 390 V8 and 4 speed Toploader (GTAs got Cruiseomatic), a special hood, striping, heavy duty suspension, disc brakes and a sports steering wheel.
