| Description |
The Cadillac Automobile Company was founded in 1903. In 1909 Cadillac was acquired by General Motors, GMs premier luxury car. The Cadillac was redesigned in 1965, the tail fins were gone, it got sharp distinct body lines and headlight pairs switched from horizontal to vertical In 1969 the dual headlights were horizontal again, parking lights wrapped around the front fenders and flanked a taller grille. In 1970 a new grille and the bright metal headlamp surrounds were bordered with body color to give it a more refined look. Models available in 1970; Calais; Entry level 130in wheelbase, 2 door Coupe or 4 door Sedan DeVille; 130 in wheelbase deVille badge on rear fender, power seats and power windows; 2 door Convertible, 2 and 4 door Hardtops or 4 door Sedan Eldorado; 120 in wheelbase, front wheel drive 2 door Hardtop. Fleetwood 60 Special; luxury 133 in wheelbase, 4 door Sedan, rear pillars wrapping around and a smaller rear window, Brougham got a vinyl roof.
