Summary edit

Description
English: American Motors Corporation (AMC) AMX concept car (one of one). A proposal developed for 1971 model year. Prepared by AMC’s vice president for styling, Richard A. Teague, who wanted AMC to continue the two-seat grand touring type sports model. It uses the front end design and fenders of the 1971 production cars with the original short wheelbase AMXs with the taillamps from 1970. This car has the 1969 dashboard and center console with the 1970-type high back bucket seats upholstered in corduroy. The area behind the front seats - that was just carpeted in the 1968 through 1970 AMCs - has bolsters that do not seem usable for passengers! Photographs were taken during the 2017 American Motors Owners (AMO) convention that was held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This show was organized by the Potomac Ramblers Automobile Club.
