Really happy to see this big old luxury Merc, although approaching from behind, I was hoping it was a Ford Granada. These W116 cars have seemingly not survived as well as other Mercedes of the same period. This one's actually got a (probably cheap) private plate- it should in fact be on a V plate being October 1979 registered, but it's gained a 1975-76 plate. It was surprising though to see this executive classic parked on the street on a row of fairly ordinary terraced houses. HML suggests there are just 32 registered, a low number really. One of 10 from 1979, at the end of 2013. Current owner since 2002. |
