| Description | A 1/16 scale model of a circus in the 1920s, built over 50 years by Howard Tibbals of Knoxville, Tennessee, is now at the Ringling Museum. It is housed in a building donated by Tibbals, called the Tibbals Learning Center. This is the "big top." The model also includes the entire grounds, including facilities for performers and workers, and even a circus train. Tibbals called his model the Howard Bros. Circus, because the Ringling circus successor would not allow him to use its name when he began his work. |
