Description The Alger Alp South Route Trail, just south of Bellingham, is part of the the Pacific Northwest Trail (now called the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail - PNNST). It takes old logging roads up to a summit. Apparently for fit people, it's a breeze (4 miles/1000 ft elevation gain) but I am not a fit person so it was a good workout for me. www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/alger-alp-south-route
