Summary edit

Description
English: A compact packing of the plane with non-overlapping binary discs (two sizes of circles) with a radius ratio of 0.4142135624. The packing fraction (area density) is 0.920151. This has a wallpaper group p4m. It has been shown that this structure achieves the densest possible packing at this ratio (possibly degenerately) (cited in Kennedy [1]).
