Русский: Почтовый блок России, посвящённый 200-летию со дня рождения В.И. Даля (1801–1872), русского лексикографа, этнографа, лингвиста, писателя, автора Толкового словаря живого великорусского языка. На марке в блоке — портрет Владимира Ивановича Даля (1872) работы В. Г. Перова. Поля блока: дом в Москве (ул. Большая Грузинская, 4/6, стр. 9), в котором Владимир Даль жил в 1859–1872 годах, в настоящее время (2012 г.) в здании располагается Музей Владимира Даля; автограф В.И. Даля; цитата Владимира Даля из его речи «Напутное слово», читанной в Обществе Любителей Русской словесности в Москве 21 апреля 1862 г., затем включавшейся в качестве предисловия к изданиям его «Толкового словаря живого великорусского языка» (см. эту цитату, например, во 2-м издании словаря, 1880 год, том I, страница II): «Живой народный язык, сберёгший в жизненной свежести дух, который придаёт языку стойкость, силу, ясность, целость и красоту, должен послужить источником и сокровищницей для развития образованной русской речи».
