Description
Deutsch: 26.08.2005 I 39035 Welsberg-Taisten / Monguelfo-Tesido (Italien/Südtirol/Pustertal): Schloß Welsperg (GMP: 46.759730,12.113977) aus dem 12./13. Jahrhundert. Auftrags- und Namensgeber des Schloss Welsperg waren die Brüder Schwikher und Otto von Welsperg. Sie ließen den schlank wirkenden Bergfried von 1126 bis 1140 erbauen. Bald darauf folgten der Palas mit Wirtschaftsgebäuden und einer romanischen Kapelle. Im auslaufenden 15. und beginnenden 16. Jahrhundert wurde die Burg Welsperg erheblich erweitert und ausgebaut. Den Höhepunkt Ihrer Machtentfaltung erlebte die Familie mit Baron Guidobold von Welsperg und Primör. 1765 zerstörte ein Brand den Großteil der Burganlage. Seit etwa 1900 ist die sanierte Burg im Besitz der Grafen von Thun und Hohenstein und kann besichtigt werden. Schwarzküche im Erdgeschoß.
