Accession: 2011-13-5 Banner, Commemorative, Panama Canal 29.3" H X 25" W Silk, Wool The banner is from the Supply Corps Museum Collection and is a souvenir brought back from a visit to the Panama Canal. Curator Branch has similar examples of commemorative banners in the collection but they refer to either the Spanish American War or Great White Fleet voyages. The color on this banner is also unusual a vibrant green instead of a black . The paper backing has been signed in Japanese possible by the artisan who made the banner. Collection of Curator Branch, Naval History and Heritage Command. |
