| Description |
English: Belgian SNCB Class 19 e-loc (Siemens) as seen pushing a train in Bruxelles-midi station. Those 24 locs are similar to Class 18 but with an automatic coupler one one end. Using this coupler allow two half rakes to be splitted (the same way as EMUs does) on twin routes with a common section. At the moment the photograph was taken, this coupler was not yet certified and loks were used ahead of full length push-pull rakes between Ostend, Brussels and Liège Français : Locomotive électrique SNCB de la série 19, de fabrication Siemens photographiée à la gare de Bruxelles-Midi alors qu'elle s'apprète à pousser une rame Intercity vers Liège. Les 24 motrices d ela série 19 sont identiques aux 96 exemplaires de la série 18, si ce n'est un attelage automatique de type GF placé à l'une des extrémités afin de consituer des demi rames de voitures M6 à double niveaux, découplables (comme des automotrices) afin d'assurer des relations jumelles disposant d'un tronçon commun. Au moment ou cette photo a été prise, l'accouplement automatique n'était pas encore certifié, et cette machine assure donc un service dédié à la série 18. |
