Bei der Suche nach einer Möglichkeit, den Strömungsabriss bei Hubschraubern zu vermeiden, sind die Göttinger Forscher beim Buckelwal fündig geworden ... Die DLR-Forscher haben die Idee von Beulen zur Verringerung des Strömungsabrisses auf den Hubschrauberrotor übertragen und als Leading-Edge Vortex Generators (LEVoGs) patentieren lassen. "Strömungsphänomene sind im Wasser wie in der Luft vergleichbar, sie müssen nur skaliert werden", so Mai. Darum sind die künstlichen Beulen auf den Rotorblättern kleiner als beim Buckelwal. Sie haben einen Durchmesser von sechs Millimetern und wiegen nur 0,04 Gramm. Experimente im Windkanal waren vielversprechend. Jetzt konnte im DLR-Projekt SIMCOS (Advanced Simulation and Control of Dynamic Stall) auch ein Flugversuch mit dem DLR-Forschungshubschrauber Bo 105 in Braunschweig erfolgreich durchgeführt werden. Dazu wurden auf jedem der vier Rotorblätter 186 LEVoGs aus Gummi geklebt. |
