English: 31.10.2013 01129 Dresden-Trachau: Großsiedlung Trachau, Häuserzeile Gustav-Richter-Straße 21, 19, 17, ... (GMP: 51.094236,13.707311). Gartenseite. Seit 1925 wurde unter Max Arlt und Paul Wolf die städtebauliche Planung für die Großsiedlung Dresden-Trachau bearbeitet. Zwischen 1929 und 1933 entstanden im westlichen Teil der Siedlung nach Entwürfen von Hans Richter und Hans Waloschek 1053 Wohnungen im Stil der Neuen Sachlichkeit. Bedingt durch die im Herbst 1929 einsetzende Weltwirtschaftskrise wurden die Häuser unter äußerstem Sparzwang gebaut. Vor Sanierungsbeginn 1996 waren die Häuser, bedingt durch vernachlässigte Instandhaltung, in desolatem Zustand. Mit dem Neuen Bauen wurden in den 1930er Jahren Erfahrungen aus der traditionellen Bautechnik ignoriert. Die fehlende Kenntnis bautechnischer und bauphysikalischer Grundlagen führte zu erheblichen Schäden. Während in Teilbereichen die ursprüngliche Gliederung der Fassade ablesbar bleibt, wird der größere Teil der Südfassade bei der Sanierung durch neue, mit Stahlprofilen gestaltete Balkone ergänzt.
