English: Repairing storm damage to the sea wall at Teignmouth, Devon. It was not possible to pour concrete directly from a lorry into the hole so this elaborate process was used instead: The concrete was mixed on a lorry parked at the end of the promenade; this was poured into buckets and transported the few metres along the railway to be discharged into the hole (at the top of the picture). |
