Description
English: Sign an the remainder of a so-called tamboer at Maasboulevard in Maastricht, Netherlands. The tamboer consisted of two identical pillars, of which this is a remainder, that could be used to close of a passage by putting wooden beams in between. It had two curved walls on each side, from which the enemy could be shot at. The tamboer was built in 1850 on the dyke between the river Jeker and the newly-built canal to Liège.
