Description U.S.Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue, blue shirt, and Department of Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, white shirt, are given a Carr Fire operations briefing at the Shasta District Fair and Event Center near Redding, Aug. 13, 2018, by CAL FIRE’s Bret Gouvea and USDA Forest Service’s Todd Pechota, Inter-Agency Incident Commanders, who summarize the situation, forecast and suppression strategy under Unified Command. In attendance from the Forest Service to answer questions regarding post-fire restoration and general forest management are Interim Chief Vicki Christiansen, Pacific Southwest Regional Forester Randy Moore, Shasta-Trinity National Forest Supervisor Scott Russell and Fire Director Shawna Legarza. Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service also provided briefings, followed by local media questions moderated by North-Operations Director Gwen Sanchez.
