Français : Microphotographie d'une lame mince de granite porphyroïde LPA x100 Une grosse quantité de minéraux blancs à faible relief sont visibles, Quartz (limpide, teinte de polarisation de blanc à noir roulante) et feldspaths alcalin (altéré, teinte de polarisation grise), quelques plagioclases (altérés, teinte de polarisation grise et macle polysynthétique). Quelques minéraux noirs sont visibles, principalement un mica noir, la biotite (teinte de polarisation orangé). La structure dite porphyroïde découle des cristaux de feldspaths alcalins très gros, 10 fois plus que le quartz, les plagioclases et la biotite.
