„In diesem damals Reisensteinschen Hause fand Philipp Melanchton mit Angehörigen und Freunden nach der Schlacht von Mühlberg am 17. Mai 1547 und etliche Tage darnach eine freundliche gastliche Zuflucht.“

English: Commemorative plaque on the Gothic House in Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains in Saxony-Anhalt in memory of a stay by Philipp Melanchton:

„In this house, then owned by Reisenstein, Philipp Melanchton and his family and friends found a friendly and hospitable refuge after the Battle of Mühlberg on 17 May 1547 and for several days afterwards.“
