Photographer: Zehmer, John G. (John Granderson), 1942-

Original Description (from Book): c. 1846-47 - This house was built at the same time as 15 West Clay Street. This was the home of Bishop Whittle, the Episcopal Bishop of Virginia. It is a very fine house in the stepped gable Greek Revival style. The house is particularly well-preserved with its original porch in fine condition. It served as the parsonage for the Hood Temple.
