Summary edit

Description 23 West 26th Street, between Broadway and Sixth Avenue in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was originally built in 1880-81 as an office builing, and was re-faced in 1922 by Peabody, Wilson & Brown in the Colonial Revival style. The building, and the one next door at 21 West 26th, served as the headquarters of the Astor family's real-estate empire when Vincent Astor was the head of the family. Since 2001, it has been occupied by the Writers House literary agency. The building lies within the Madison Square Historic District.
