Description Summer Saturdays on the Cambrian line up until the mid 1980s saw class 25s which worked between Birmingham and Aberystwyth. Seen at the end of its journey having worked a through train from London Euston, 25064 is closest to the camera double heading with 25072. Date taken, 26 May 1984. Punctuality was often unreliable despite being double headed, they often struggled with keeping to time on the gradients. In addition with few crossing points beyond Shrewsbury, further time was often lost due to loosing their pathways.
