Description

Lot-8293-4: An Item of Salvage. This 77mm. Boche Gun was one of the articles deposited at the salvage dump of the 26th Division at Nanteuil-Sur-Marne after the advance beyond Chateau-Thierry. Second Lieutenant H.E. Sponseler, the officer in command of the 20th Salvage Company (Q.M.C.) is standing near the gun, August 15th, 1918. Courtesy of the Library of Congress. (2016/07/29).
