Title
Fontaine des Puits-Clos
Description
English: The Puits-Clos fountain inaugurated in 1984 by Bernard Calley, architect of French buildings, to hide a blind wall. The facade is dressed in a veneer of bricks of different colors. Three copper basins receive the water distributed by three chantepleures. The facade is punctuated by four pink marble columns with Corinthian capitals, vestiges of the altarpiece installed around 1741-1749 in the church of Dalbade and deposited in the Paul-Dupuy museum in 1930 after the fall of the bell tower. They seem to support an entablature and a pediment with cut sides. Between the central columns was placed, on a pedestal in the shape of a shell, a statue - stolen in 2010 - in cast iron of Psyche trying to see the face of Eros with the help of a lamp, cast of a sculpture of 1867 by Pierre-Bernard Prouha, in the Musée des Augustins.
