Description 330-PS-1179 (USN 426582): Landing Ship Infantry Large, LSIL 1091, which carries the U.S. Navy’s new experimental epidemic control laboratory is shown tied up at Tokyo for inspection by Far East Command senior medical officers before commencing operations in the Korean War seas. The ship was used to land assault troops on Okinawa during World War II. Photograph released February 13, 1951. (6/30/2015).
