Description 330-PS-3293-1: “Mighty Mite,” a revolutionary ¼-ton, light-weight truck that is capable of towing trailed loads, transporting weapons and radios and evacuating casualties, is being carried by helicopter using a special demonstration March 26, 1953, at the Marine Corps School, Quantico, Virginia. High government, military, and industrial officials, who were present at the demonstration noted that “Might Mite” can perform tasks which heretofore have not been possible with present vehicle. During this demonstration, “Mighty Mite,” showed its versatility by maneuvering over obstacles, executing various turns and climbing a steep slope. “Mighty Mite” was built by the Mid-American Research Corporation with consultant advise by the Marine Corps Schools Equipment Board of Quantico.
