Description 330-PS-6004 (USMC A 348323): Major John F. Bolt, the first USMC “Ace” during the Korean War has downed his 5th and 6th MiGs while flying with the 5th Air Force in Korea as an exchange pilot. Major Bolt, who shot down six Japanese planes during World War II, flew 89 jet fighter-bomber missions with the First Marine Aircraft Wing, which has been assigned only close support and interdiction missions in Korea. He has flown 37 Sabre jet sweeps with the 5th Air Force, which is carrying the air war to the MiGs. Photographed by Technical Sergeant Tom Donaldson. (4/21/2015).
