Description 330-PSA-184-60 (USN 1049642): Mockup of the Oscar Optimum Survival Containment and Recovery Escape Capsule recently accepted by the U.S. Navy. It is shown with stabilization fins in erect position with canopy open. The mockup, unlike most aircraft simulation devices which are made of wood, was constructed from the actual nose section of an F8U Crusader. R.J. McGowan, Chance Vought Engineer, checks cockpit installations for comfort and convenience, August 1960. (9/9/2015).
