Description 330-PSA-191-63 (USN 711348): Wreck of USS Thresher (SSN-593). "An internal watertight submarine door photographed August 24 during the bathyscaph Trieste's second series of dives some 220 miles east of Cape Cod where the nuclear powered submarine Thresher sank April 10, 1963." The original view, from whose caption the quoted text is taken, was released on 5 September 1963. Also at NHHC as NH 97567. (2015/10/20).
