Summary edit

Description 330-PSA-21-65 (USN 1108797): The review of the airplane demonstrated the uncomplicated method of changing engines in primitive areas with minimal use of special tools. Master Caption: The OV-10A counter-insurgency aircraft, COIN/LARA, was built by North American Aviation’s Columbus, Ohio, Division. The aircraft was designed with the capability for performing a variety of missions, including, observation and reconnaissance, helicopter escort, limited ground attack, target marking, gun fire, sporting, liaison, and utility. Powered by two AiResearch T-76 turbo-prop engines, it employed high lift devices making it capable of operating from small unimproved fields. The mock-up board, which included officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, studied the full scale mock-up to determine the contractor’s adherence to specifications and suitability for the above mission. Released February 3, 1965. (2015/11/10).
