Description 330-PSA-87-62 (USN 711044): First Flight of the U.S. Navy’s DSN-3 Drone, flying high and on its own. Master Caption: On January 25, 1962, the DSN-3 Drone flew under complete remote control for the first time at the U.S. Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, Maryland. The DSN-3, built by the Gyrodyne Company of America, Inc., at St. James, New York, is the weapons carrying drone helicopter of the DASH (Drone Anti-Submarine Helicopter) weapons system. Photograph released April 5, 1962. (9/29/2015).
