Summary edit

Description

English: So-called anaglyph images can be generated from the nadir channel of the HRSC camera system operated by DLR on the ESA Mars Express probe, which is directed perpendicularly at the surface of Mars, and one of the four oblique viewing stereo channels. They enable a three-dimensional view of the landscape when using red-blue or red-green glasses. North is in the picture on the left in about the "half past nine direction". What catches the eye is the topography of a structure with a strikingly outlined landscape, reminiscent of an angel with outstretched wings, under whose right wing (from the camera perspective) a heart can even be seen. The topography comes from accumulated deposits of dark volcanic sands, which can be easily understood in the 3D view. With a little imagination, even the edge of the crater of the depression that makes up the "head of the angel figure" can be interpreted as a halo.
