English: The Panzerkampfwagen IV (PzKpfw IV), commonly known as the Panzer IV, was a German medium tank developed in the late 1930s and used extensively during the Second World War. Its ordnance inventory designation was Sd.Kfz. 161. Overlord Museum, near "Omaha Beach" and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer, chronicles the period of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France during World War II, in the Normandy landings on 6 June 1944 (D-Day) until the liberation of Paris on 25 August 1944. Personal items from individual soldiers and armoured fighting vehicles from the six armies in Normandy (Free France, United Kingdom, Canada, United States and Poland against Nazi Germany) are presented as a series of reconstructions showing over 35 vehicles, tanks and guns. |
